Here we have a more in depth look at what Ufology is.

We all know that Ufology is a term used to describe the efforts of researchers, both believers and non-believers alike, who feel like that UFO’s are worthy of study and further research. But did you know that they also research hoaxes? The find that such hoaxes are worthy of research and study from a psychosocial point of view. Ufology doesn’t represent an academic research program but even before there was Ufology, various investigations were undergone, ever since the first sightings. These investigations subject the UFO reports to a number of investigations varying in scope and scientific rigor.

UFO Spaceship/>The best known study, perhaps, was the Project Blue Book, previously referred to as Project Sign and Project Grudge. This study was conducted by the United States Air Force. It was started in 1947 and lasted until 1969. Besides Project Blue Book, there are plenty more investigations to further enhance knowledge about UFO’s. These include; Robertson Panel, The Brookings Report, The Condon Committee, The Project Twinkle which investigated “green fireballs”, The Sturrock Panel and the French study groups GEIPAN and COMETA.</p>
<p align=Many think that astronomers don’t report UFO sightings but this was falsified when the Air Force’s research, Project Blue Book, indicated in one of its files that about 1% of the information which helped formulate their reports were from amateur as well as professional astronomers. In 1980, a survey which involved about 1800 members of different amateur astronomer associations found out that 24% of the people surveyed gave a positive answer to the question: “Have you ever observed an object which resisted your most exhaustive efforts at identification?”.

So while Ufology isn’t exactly a college degree, though it might be a really interesting one, Ufology is considered to be quite a significant study in terms of finding out more about the UFO Phenomena.
